Seoul offers opportunities to connect an academic visit with Korean history, art and everyday city life. Start close to the venue before planning longer journeys: a short outing can be easier to fit around presentations and meetings than a full day across the city.
Olympic heritage
The World Peace Gate commemorates the 1988 Seoul Olympic Games. Olympic Park combines public landscapes, sculptures and walking paths. Use the official Olympic Park guide to choose a route.
History and art
Mongchontoseong preserves traces of Baekje-period earthen fortifications within the park. The surrounding area also includes SOMA Museum of Art and Seoul Baekje Museum. Check individual opening days and exhibitions before visiting.
